I am so happy to be a part of this organization. I hope to be able to attend some events and meet you in person as well. Absolutely you can use my name and biographical information. Here is some about me:
I was born and raised in Wilson Co, NC. Dialysis was my first nursing job. I was hired to do in-center hemodialysis as an LPN. Soon after, I was licensed as an RN. After few years of ICHD, I accepted a job in the Acute dialysis unit at our local hospital. I started to wonder, as I think a lot of nurses do, “Is there other life out there? Something I may have missed that I may like better?” I left dialysis for a few years and found my way back. I found out that dialysis was in my soul. I love these patients and the way we get to know them so well and see them so regularly. I have run the gambit in dialysis, trying out new things from ICHD, to acutes, to clinical nurse manager. I am currently a home hemodialysis training nurse. I love this because I get to help these patients take charge of their own healthcare and they feel so much better than in-center dialysis. They are like family to me.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my son, who is 12, so those times when he wants to hang out with his mom, I soak it up! I love to read, spend time outside (especially at the beach), spend time with family and I am also happy for a lazy day or night binging Netflix.
WELCOME CINDY - glad you are part of the Tar River ANNA Chapter.
